On a wet and windy day our 2nd VX team arrived ready for action. From the off Casuals pushed hard putting in a number of good tackles and turning the ball over which was passed to Sam Franklin who distributed well to the backs. Casuals gained a penalty and went for the posts but the kick was missed. Casuals once again went strong and when the ball reached Jack Harris he found the space to run through the defensive line, scoring Casuals first try. Sam Franklin successfully converting.

Scouts regrouped and obtained a line out 5 metres from the Casuals goal line. Scouts retained the ball and formed a driving maul getting the ball down over the try line which was then converted.

For the next 15 minutes the match became a bit scrappy with neither side gaining the upper hand. Sam Franklin received the ball, chipped it over the Scouts defence for the Casuals attack to run onto but Scouts were awarded a free kick. The kick was gathered by Daniel Falkenthal-Smith who then sidestepped a couple of defenders before putting the ball down over the line. Unfortunately Casuals were not able to convert this try.

On Casuals next attack the forwards took control tucking the ball up their jumper, with both Cam Green and Jack Harris working hard to gain Casuals much needed yards. Scouts defence was well organised though and kept the Casuals attack at bay. Sam Franklin again chipped the ball into the Scouts 22, this time Scouts gathered the ball only to be met with a spirited tackle from Daniel Falkenthal-Smith but this time Casuals were unable to capitalise on the advantage.

Scouts were awarded a penalty and kicked the ball back up field but missed touch. Kyle Paredes-Facer gathered the ball making great yards on the wing before offloading to continue the attack. The ball working its way to Chris Berridge who put the ball down over the line for Casuals third try of the match. Sam Franklin added the extra two points.

With seconds to go before half time Casuals went down to fourteen men when Dave Emery received a yellow card for a late tackle.

The second half saw the Casuals pack continuing where they left off and despite being a man down. Their defence dug deep with Kian White and Cam Green both working hard and putting in some good tackles.

Ben Reavill, making his debut for the Casuals, landed awkwardly from a line out and dislocated his elbow. The referee decided at this point to end the match.
