Four girls have been selected for the East Midlands U16 Player Development Group (PDG), while seven boys have secured places within the Northampton Saints Academy Programme Foundation Phase.
For the Saints foundation phase, at U15, Ellis has been selected, while Alfie W, Kian, Alfie C, Ben, Josh and Trey have all earned places at U16 age group.
Each of the players had to go through a competitive trials process, requiring plenty of preparation, training and commitment before having to perform when it mattered on the day. Earning selection is recognition not only of their ability, but of the hard work and dedication they continue to put into their rugby.
For our boys, the Foundation Phase represents the initial entry point into the Northampton Saints Academy pathway at U15 and U16. Players are assessed through a structured talent identification process before continuing their development through specialist training and opportunities to test themselves alongside other talented young players from across the region.
For Amelia, Martha, Isla and Scarlett, selection for the East Midlands U16 PDG is another exciting step in their rugby journeys and a brilliant opportunity to continue developing and challenging themselves within a representative environment.
While it is fantastic to see Casuals players recognised in this way, we're just as proud of what sits behind the selections - the hours on the pitch, the determination to keep improving and the courage to compete for a place.
For young players still near the beginning of their rugby journeys, these are significant milestones and opportunities they have thoroughly earned.
Congratulations Amelia, Martha, Isla, Scarlett, Ellis, Alfie W, Kian, Alfie C, Ben, Josh and Trey. Everyone at Casuals is incredibly proud of you, and we can't wait to see where your rugby takes you next.
