1. About Mini and Junior Rugby at Casuals

Supporting ALL children in our community to reach their potential

Our simple aim at Northampton Casuals is to support every child in reaching their potential both on and off the pitch. We want our players to have fun, make friends, gain skills for life and enjoy playing the best game in the world.

The Mini and Junior section was established in 1980, and has grown into a thriving and diverse community of young people from the ages of 6 up to 16.

We are proud that we give everyone the chance to enjoy rugby, in an environment where players can reach their full potential, whatever level that may be. Many of our youth players go on to play for the senior sides at the club, and we also have players selected for the Northampton Saints development programme and representing the club at regional levels.

The children are organised into year groups led by qualified coaching teams, with both boys and girls welcome to train and play together up to Under 11 level - after which female players can move through to our thriving girls section. All teams train and play on Sundays, with some mid-week sessions for older groups, with friendly fixtures and tournaments scheduled right through the season.

The RFU's core values of rugby - Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship (TREDS) are embedded in everything we do.

We extend a very warm welcome to any new players and their families who join us here at Northampton Casuals. To find out more, contact the relevant age group contact, or the Mini and Junior Chair.
